I had been having issues with several types of sedge in my grass and flowerbeds. I got some Sedgehammer, it completely wiped out the sedge that I sprayed. That stuff is remarkable!

And, it didn't harm the grass or other plants at all.

Thats good to know. I did not have good luck with it being effective but I mixed it and sprayed at a later date. I think the shelf date once mixed is very quick so dont leave any in your sprayer without using it up.

Correct: Yes, SedgeHammer begins to degrade and lose effectiveness once it is mixed with water. The manufacturer recommends using or discarding any mixed solution within 24 hours.

If it weren't for nutsedge and Virginia buttonweed in my back yard, it would be mostly a dustbowl.

MSM Turf works well for Virginia Button Weed and several other hard to kill weeds.

Can I use it in this heat? Most of the ones I see state to not use above 85 degrees. What's the use of making a herbicide to control summer weeds when it can't be used in the heat of the summer.

I have been pouring the boiling water from cooking pasta or potatoes on this bushy grass clumps that grew in walking area in our back lawn.
Looks like some type of nut grass clump. Other than boiling water is pulling it up after a good drenching rain.
Boiling water bath brings back subliminal medieval memories when I walk by the wilted brown leftover clumps of the enemy.
After I get my evil fix I will give Sedgehammer a try.

After paying out the big bucks for sedge hammer an applying it as recommended, I noticed that it recommended applying it at the stage of the plant life that only has3 leaves. WTF?

Im waging war on nutgrass right now. Got the garden all cleaned out bout a month ago. Letting that nutgrass get 4-6 inches and then they get a taste of roundup. Once a week I'm getting the new shoots that come up. Ain’t no way you can pull that stuff out. Just gotta get mean with it!!

For me the actually 'nut' that is the root lives through almost anything. They look dead after being sprayed, but only the top died. It comes back.

My hope is that it I get them going really well…hit um with roundup and let them sit there LONG after they topside looks dead…it will get the nuts that are still attached to the roots. Patience and hit the new ones every week.
