I have been with Eddie 3 times, true professional. He is hard to get a trip with. I also like fishing with captain Willy B with Super Strike. He is a fish killing machine, but you have to deal with a little crazy, but it’s worth it. Great boats and equipment,

Have fished with Capt. Eddie three times and with Mexican Gulf Fishing Company five times. All good charters.

I went in June a couple years ago. Our guide said early spring was the best time bc the tuna are closer in but you have to deal with the unpredictable weather in early spring.

Used to go every year (towing a boat from Texas) during February. Never got skunked while there but the conditions were rarely ideal. We would go to the lump and when things were right, the fishing and boats were everywhere. One day we counted over a hundred with some so close we were talking to them without having to yell. The practice is to put a buoy on your anchor line so when you get a tuna you can untie and maneuver through all the boats into open water to fight it. I hear the lump isn't as hot as it used to be and a lot of the charter guys are now fishing the rigs for tuna.

                I've heard a new moon.

                Agree with Spring time.

Check out Triple Tail Charters or Super Strike Charters. Blake with Triple Tail is a great dude to fish with. And if you stay in one of his floating cabins his wife Bailey is a damn fine cook.
