    To the DF Braintrust:

A couple of weeks ago I begin having sort of a ringing sound in my head. On doing some research on the computer I learn that it is called Tinnitus. Have scheduled an appointment with an Audiologist to get the lowdown on it, as to what, if anything, can be done about it. Anyone on here have any personal experience with this Tinnitus and results of any treatments you may have had?

Good luck. I've had it so long I rarely even notice it anymore. Doctor told me there's nothing really to do about it. If you find out otherwise, please let me know.

Yep, popped up when I had the tumor, still there now even after the gamma knife. Fun times.

There was a thread on it a few months back..

Welcome to the Locust Club, I’ve been a member for about 30 years now. I have been to ENT, audiologists, neurologists and it just gets worse.

I have to sleep with white noise or I never get to sleep. Drives the wife nuts.

Hearing aids with tinnitus canceling help during the wake hours. I also bought a pair of the newer iPods with hearing aid noise cancelling. They help as well.

I missed it ... or just plain don't remember it. I do recall a Shark Tank episode where someone was pushing CBD gummies as a cure for ringing in the ears. As I recall the entire panel dismissed it!

Got it but ignore it, it's just part of life now. Mine is probably not as bad as some others.

My hearing aids made my tinnitus much better. High blood pressure can also cause it to come on quickly.

I've had it for so long I don't even mind it. Many years of big guns and loud music with no hearing protection have done some damage.
I still listen to loud music but do wear protection when shooting.

I have had it for long enough that I rarely notice it. The last time I had my hearing checked, I was told there is really nothing to be done. That said, my better half said hers was reduced when she got her hearing aids. I don’t need hearing aids to hear, so I am reluctant to get them just for tinnitus, but there may come a day when I will need to do that.

Okay, now I remember it. Even posted in it! Apparently, the "ringing" really does have an effect.
