I like to get it out of the way early...filed in February. Payment today.

I saw something about extending the deadline. The guy that does my taxes never has it ready in time he always gets an extension I don’t know why ours is pretty simple.

While we’re hoping, I hope they end taxing social security retirement but I wouldn’t bet on it.

You and me both. Talk about double taxation ! Bunch of crooks! Take our money twice only to put it in there pockets.

We actually got a little back this year, but that just means we overpaid on our quarterlies during the year in 2024. We’re walking a fine line to get all of my stuff converted to Roth programs before we have to start taking RMD’s in a few years, and trying to stay under an income level that triggers an IRMAA adjustment for Medicare. I am really glad I have smarter people than me making these decisions, because I am sure I would screw it up somehow.

Did ours last weekend. Had to pay again but not as much as last year since I paid a little more throughout the year. The wife hates it that I wait till the last minute.

I paid my sin tax's. I hate to say that but I have zero faith in giving money to a non deserving gov. All our gov does is think of more ways to spend more money.

I wrote my check on Saturday, more than in previous years but I sure don't feel any richer than before.
I try to keep my payments set so I end up owing a couple hundred but I missed the target this year but as long as the IRS folks don't come telling me to bump my payments I'm okay.

As for taxing SS. It really pisses me off. Maybe if there was a method to calculate the 'return' we earned over all the years we gave them our 'after tax' $$$ and we only paid taxes on the 'earnings' maybe it wouldn't be so bad. Grrrr.

Cost us $170.00 this year, hope it gets well spent.

Not even enough to refill Nancy P’s ice cream freezer or a good bottle of wine. It’s bad when our government has to take money from someone like me lol. It must be hurting
