Ooooooo, my favorite part, the neck. It’s got to be the best tasting part of a chicken.

Soak them in milk and put them through a tenderizer and fry.

I love me some fried gizzards. Any time I have to go to Tomball I stop at Hartz and load up on 'em.

This thread is proof positive, that there are no bad parts of a chicken. Also that this country is blessed so that we can pick and choose what we consider edible. Hungry is not a a food critic. I grew up with a good knowledge of all types of food, and some women that could cook. I was never hungry, but I ate All the stuff that some of y'all declare no bueno, The depression and WWII were refining to the pallet for the boomer generation. I also ate lots of mutton, pickled herring, calf liver once a week like Kweber, SOS, potted meat sammiches, bologna was a delicacy for a while. One thing I will never miss is those fried chicken, Banquet, tv dinners that we ate for a couple years when my mom was teaching and coaching volley ball in Kilgore. Not so much the chicken, but those mashed potatoes always had peas and carrots in that nasty gravy, and it took a whole scoop of ice cream to put the fire out in the apple pie/cobbler. Edit... My mom taught at Carthage not Kilgore, and now that I think about it the peas and carrots might have been floating in the gravy for those yummy salsbury steak dinners, its been a while.

Bummer, wife is in Conroe on a pet sitting job, headed up to Church's for some gizzards, damn, they closed yesterday and today. Always tomorrow.

When I was growing up KFC had gizzards that would melt in your mouth. Either steamed or pressure cooked.

I never knew they had gizzards but, I didn’t really start eating gizzards until about my mid 30’s. 20 years ago😝.
Convenience store in Lolita had some damn good Turkey gizzards. I ordered a box for sons 21 Bday party.
I think it was like 20 pounds of gizzards. They went fast.

Either ya'll have tough arse jaw muscles or those gizzards have in some way been pressure cooked

I used to get everyone's deer hearts until they ate my chicken fried deer heart. I served it to my BIL and nephews w/o telling them it was deer heart and asked if they had ever eaten deer heart ? They said never. Told them now you have. Deer liver soaked in milk then coated w/flour fried in a little oil w/ onions. Then pan gravy. Mmmmm-mm.

yes sir on the gizzards! fried or smothered in gravy! also, a big like for what my bohunkian aunt called the dupa on a chicken, the tail! I get down to gilhooleys occasionally , get a salad, bowl of gizzards, couple of cold sociables, done for the day.
