2 bass caught on Topwater

Last Monday in the ;ate afternoon I went to my pond and threw a Skitterwalk TW lure several times in the deep end nothing bit so I cast towards the shallow bank and all hell broke loose, thought i hooked gator, had heavy weight reeling back to me and lots of resistance, but when I saw i had 2 Bass hooked I tried to drag them up on the bank. Got both on the land flopping all around and the smallest one that was hooked on the rear tribble hook got back in the water, the other I had to use my hook out to remove the hook. Big Bass was 19.25 inches other I'm guessing was 17-18 inch.
I have been fishing with lures for well over 50 years and never had 2 fish hooked on a Topwater !!

I caught a nice, 5-6lb blue catfish on a pink skitterwalk in the lake behind my house at BarX several years ago….a first for me….

Never had that happen on a topwater but have caught two at a time on a RatLTrap a couple times. Nothing that big either.

I've caught maybe 7 or 8 piggy perch on baby spooks over the years, two of which were hooked at the same time. One came off when I lifted the lure out of the water. Neither was more than 4" though.
