Another Year of Surf Suckage ??

    I have no ideal
As an inlander I depended on intel from friends that lived on the coast
Through deaths and relocation those sources have dried up regrettably
Makes me wonder if I lived too long

A few years ago it was easy to get a read on the surf conditions from various sites
Texas A&M T.A.B.S. site used to show the direction of current flow which helped showing where the rivers runoff was heading
    Not any more
Surf cams were everywhere, and free, not any more either
I'm about to pull the trigger and subscribe to Saltwater Recon as a last resort

About the only forecasting tool I have left are the buoy reports and they are not that informative.

    I need a crystal ball

Oh, the species I'm after are these if my long term memory is correct LOL

Here's one for the beach down by the Matagorda Harbor:
Live webcam streaming of the Matagorda Beach jetty. Check on the surf before you drive down to pick up your boat.

Saltwater recon is the best if you are going to use it. You can actually manipulate the cameras, with zoom capabilities for the ultimate in virtual potlicking! Tides4fishing .com for the solunar feeds, tides and wave heights etc...

Surf is fine you need to adjust. If all you insist on is spoons and wading slick surf for croaker coming in from atx, probably have 12 fishable days out of the year....

I'll keep you informed RC. I'm watching it like a fat kid looking for cake.

Same here. I lost last year because of a knee replacement. I’m 30 minutes from the seawall, I will be hitting it hard this year.

                I throw more than spoons

My criteria for a fishable surf is not that picky either

                My no go list includes

No three foot breakers, I like to fish and not fight for footing

No river runoff and the hydrilla it brings,...Sargassum is fine and I actually like it

No winds greater than 20knots, unless it's a north wind

And the top no go is Holidays, but only because of the heavy traffic

Go Fishing. That’s how you catch ‘em and have a great time.

What's this "fishing" you all speak of? It sounds vaguely familiar as if it was something I may have done in a past life. ☹️
