    Confident Bass Lure

What's your go to bass lure? For me its always been a spinner bait color matched to whatever I was fishing.

    Several.
mini chrome and blue RatLtrap, Texas rigged worm, and an old black n yellow h&h spinner.

Can't say which caught more fish...all were good.

It's not red vs. blue, it's the state vs. you

Rat L Trap was always my go to. Chrome and blue on Conroe and chrome and green for Livingston. I'd hit an area with the Rat L Trap first, follow it with a crank bait the slow it down with a worm. If I was fishing a shallow flat then I would start with a spinnerbait.

Probably more tournaments won on Toledo Bend with red rattle traps than any other lure.

white/yellow black dot shyster in-line spinner...
my Dad caught so many bass on tanks he helped build in LaSalle Co ,.. that Mom re-painted some of them
5 or 6 yrs after they filled, the bass were thick and hungry...
Daddys go-to was a zebco 33 ( the good ones not the cheapie, ) 6ft fibreglas rod and a 1/4oz shyster
those tanks were full of 2-3lbrs
        no boats needed..
        some good fish-frys

one other thing,,,, some of yasll may remember the mail-order fishing lures from magazines...
          6 or 7 lures for a dollar...
they let me order a set...
one lure stood out... it was a red/white popper...
but different... red body and white head...
maybe 3in 1/4-3/8oz...plastic, and it ended up scratched alot from surface strikes...
it's lost to time, and I have never seen that pattern again...

There is no denying that the 6” crème scoundrel Texas rigged in purple or red is probably the deadliest bass baits ever invented.
Caught a few flounder on them as well.

My favorite was always a spinner bait. My best fishing buddy always used a plastic worm. I never had the patience.

That H&H spinner bait picture made me smile - I bought a ton of them over the years from Gibson's when they'd run them for 4/$1.00 (yup, I'm old). Great lures, but the skirts always got stuck to everything plastic.

Craw colored square bill crank or top water frog in true frog pattern color. Solid black Zara spook is a close one too.

Black Fury Mepps spinner, White Stump Jumper and of course a Hula Popper are my favorite to use. I don't have a all time favorite, I enjoy the classic wood lures but would rather display them than use them.
