Yesterday the wind was crazy high so no fishing for me. I got up this morning and had to go. I loaded the kayak and went to flat I used to fish quite a bit. Put in at dawn and it was pretty slick. I didn't have to go far and I saw reds busting bait against the grass. That's when I realized most of my tackle (lures and jig heads) was still in the truck. I threw a few different things at them and they were ignored. I could see it was shrimp there were chasing so I put on a white fluke type lure I make and it was on then. Got (5) between 25-27'' before they split up. I threw at some flounder with no luck. The wind came up after a while and I couldn't locate anymore after that. I was home by 1:00. The take away today, as I've said many times profile/size is more important than color.
