I got a surprise visitor, one that I haven't seen in a couple of decades here.

I know little about them, any guess as to what species it is?

And pic of the does, who hit the corn 10 minutes after I put it out for the evening

Most likely a Gray Fox (black spot on the tail), most common type in Texas. Cool little critters.

This reminds me I need to check our game cameras. Haven't done it since season ended.

Seen and heard woodies in the flooded timber

Geese were flying, multiple flocks were spotted

Hundred and hundreds of blackbirds

The "Fortress of Solitude" is still high and dry

Dekes go out this evening, the hunt begins in the morning

I just came in from an evening hunt.

Saw a few flocks coming in to roost but none were in range

Mostly I just sat back and enjoyed the show

The "Who cooks for you" birds were having a concert

And the sunset was spectacular

Stayed late, and the full moon guided me back to my ATV


Was a good hunt

Heavy fog predicted for the morning, not good

Good size yote came through last night.

He's on the prowl for fast or slow food

Doesn't much matter, they'll eat just about anything, including bugs

Question,..Those palmettos, what is trimming them, whitetails?

Some pics looked like whitetails been doing some night time skinny dipping
