Reminded me of a bear I saw in Concan one morning. I thought it was a big pig until it stood up and messed with the feeder lol.
Life its too short to own ugly handguns and drink fruity whiskey.

No they're there. Mary from Texas Bowhunter ran into a couple while hunting near Concan.

any bears in SWTx are probably damn skinny right now...roadkill, deer corn and weak or dead CWD deer are about it...

Haven't seen a bear but did see an axis for the first time this year here in Robertson County. No high fence ranches anywhere close to me. Click image for larger version

there isn't enough TP, wipes, Foca or Clorox in the world that would be needed to clean up the mess that would be created if any one of us walked into one of those on the way to the deer stand in the morning !!!!
There are three kinds of people in the world, those that can count and those that can't.

Yes, I agree. But, really unless you mess with cubs or something, black bears aren't really dangerous are they? I have heard them described as huge raccoons in their behavior. I have no desire to shoot one here in Texas. But what are the laws concerning black bears in Texas?

I told them we’ve already got one

My son lives in Uvalde and just told me about one of his producers showing him a game pic from last week with a bear in it. It could have been in Bracketville. He works all over that area.

My family has a ranch South of Brackettville and I've never seen any black bears there ever. A relative of mine did have a few show up on his game cameras along Las Moras creek but that was 10-15 years ago. And they were there for only a few pics and then moved on. A black bear was hit and killed by a car just West of Brackettville on highway 90 a fews ago.

I read an article a year or so ago about black bears in Texas and it talked about bear attacks and what to do if you are attacked. The article said that of all the bear attacks in Texas only a couple of them were from females protecting their young. Most of the attacks were from solitary males and they were hunting for food. The article also said to make yourself look bigger, raise your arms up or a coat and to yell at a bear that might be trying to attack you. And if you are attacked do not play dead! Fight tooth and nail with anything and everything you can or you will be killed and likely eaten.

Well, that's comforting!! I'd be carrying my 10 mm in that area.
