    Pigs

The pigs moved out but have recently started showing back up in small numbers. Time for me to go back to work.

We have had the same thing happen here. They moved out a couple weeks ago and just seeing one or two at the feeders at night. But they will be back.....they always come back.

I ended up with two for the night and only fired one shot. Buzzards located the other one for me this morning. Ran about 250 yards and DRT. Bonus!!!! I could have done a couple of follow up shots but I had cows in the field. After I shot they ran to open hay field. Not normal. They followed the wounded pig.

Here are a couple of video's from this weekend. I was not hunting hogs. These just showed up behind the shop hay field just off the tree line. Opportunity targets. Shots are about 140 yards give or take 10 yards. I personally like the hear the squealing. I do the same when I'm repairing the damage they do to my fields. They hit the hill top pasture Saturday night. 30 feet from the fence around my house. Going to sprig that 30 acres this week. Probably not a good idea but going to do it anyway.

Not hunting them but they presented themselves as targets. I do seriously hunt them to keep them from destroying my property but these just showed up behind ...

Not really hunting this weekend but they showed up behind my shop. What can I do?

            First for me.
Hid the pig from vultures today, drug out to open area this afternoon in hopes of coyotes tonight.

Went out and was full of buzzards, at 9:30 pm, After 30 minutes had to shoot just to scare them off. Always thought they went to bed after sunset, guess not.

At least buzzards serve a useful purpose, Democrats not so much.

Shooter there back up here. I was sitting on the porch this afternoon having a glass of whiskey with the neighbor and looked down at the pond about 150 yrds. below the house and there was a sow, boar and about 10 little ones. That was 4:30 this afternoon. We got the sow and boar. Also killed one Saturday night.

Speaking of buzzards and hogs...saw a group of blackheads (all democrats) gathered around something yesterday. They flew off as I neared but carcass was shaking...I had to yell a couple of times until it poked its head out. Click image for larger version

Good job. I've been seeing a few on camera since I started feeding again. Me and the neighbor will see if we can get a few next week. I'll leave Mexico and head home Wednesday.

Dropped the gate on a big red sow single not piglets about a week ago got pics of her until about 1;00 am and nothing. Next morning went to shoot her but nothing in trap, lots of blood on 3 panels so I guess she was able to get her footing after jumping high and pull herself over the 6 foot panel. Doubt she will ever go into another trap

I've got 5' cattle panel traps that are 16' in diameter and have seen them clear it like a deer when pressed. I got home about an hour ago and will see what I can do about thinning the herd tonight.
