Where we are we are fighting gnats, black flies and house flies. The more rain we get the worse they get. There is so much standing water now the mosquitoes can't be far behind.

When I went to the bottom to tend a game cam at sunset I saw no skeeters or gnats

There were swarms of dragonflies providing aerial support

But I don't think I would venture out there at night, they only do day time dogfights

The big ones are tearing me up behind the house in Pasadena. Not much I can do about it since I have a green belt behind me where water does't drain plus the detention pond right behind it.

Saturday I was mowing my place in Sargent and the ones that landed on me were just trying not to get blown to Bay City in the wind. I have one of those tennis racket looking zappers, they're the most fun you can have killing mosquitos.
