    Bernoulli's Principle rain

Driving home in the pouring rain from Georgetown this afternoon. I was on FM 487 heading towards Caldwell. Your standard 2 lane country road with no real shoulder. From looking at Google maps. I'm thinking I was close to, "The Crossroads, TX." I could only run 40 mph safely. Then the rain pretty much instantly stopped. To the north and above me. I now saw Purple and Aqua colored fist shaped clouds. I'm guessing they were a few hundred feet above me. To my right it was bright-ish with the fist clouds moving in.

That view lasted maybe a mile before the clouds started dropping down. Then I could see the rain line about 1/2 mile ahead. When I drove up to it. It was blowing sideways, parallel to the road but 10' or so off the road. The best way to describe it was looking at a plane in a wind tunnel. When the smoke flows over the wing (Bernoulli's Principle-I had to look up the name). I drove through 3 of these things in about a mile. It would drop down and cover the road for a couple hundred yards. Then it would be above me.

I think my dumbass drove into a tornado. I just realized this, while typing this.

Just outside of Caldwell was the worst wind.

I know. no pics, or it didn't happen.

Maybe a tornado, maybe wind sheer or microburst. You’re lucky either way.
    I do stuff !

Sounds like it. And a dumbass you may be but I drove my wife past parked cars seeking shelter last night to make it back home....with a tornado warning issued.

I guess I left out the Bernoulli's Principle part. The wind and rain going parallel was getting lift coming out of the lower land and ditch. You could see the column of wind and rain curve over and above the road.

That sounds like a tornado. Any hail?

That had to be an awesome thing to see!! Glad you are safe to tell about it.

I'm sure you know this....but the Bernoulli Principle is what makes an aircraft fly. If you see it you are either in an aircraft or about to become one!

So what color were the mushrooms, and were they crowning in a cow patty?
I told them we’ve already got one

That sounds like a pretty neat site to see. What I saw last night was pretty hairy...........
                    If it flies........it dies
