What's going on with my oak tree?

All of these are falling in one area. The breaks on them are clean, it looks almost like something is cutting it. What the hell's going on? It's not that windy Click image for larger version

Squirrels seem to be the only logic explanation I can think of as well.

I've seen squirrels do it, but generally it appeared they were to clear a path on a branch. I guess it would make sense that they are collecting them for a nest, but isn't nesting season over? There pups are already out and about.
I told them we’ve already got one

Twig girdler or something like that. Believe it is a beetle.

Squirrels sharpen their teeth by cutting limbs. They are most likely getting ready to build a nest in the tree.
              Definitely Maybe

May indeed be a twig girdler

(10/22/05)-Host Steve Owens talks about a beetle know as the twig girlder and the damage they can cause to trees in the landscape.
