Whitetail meat is Disgusting

I been cooking this ground deer meat for 2 hrs.
Its still wafting pure testosteron.

I guess the buzzards got to eat too.

I have had some bad WT meat myself in the past. Did not smell right when cooking. Most of the time it's pretty decent. Was it road kill or chased by dogs? That usually makes the meat pretty nasty.

I do all my own processing. Grind deer meat with brisket 50/50 and it’s excellent. If it taste bad, somebody processed it wrong….wife’s cookin some right now…..

Our deer this year have a stronger taste than usual due to all the acorns we had.
I pity the poor soul who had to clean a gut shot acorn fed deer this year

This will bum you out Steven, I coulda killed at least 8 does this year. At least six on one ranch and I’m sure several more, and didn’t kill any. I thought about you when you were looking for a meat hunt but I just wasn’t set up for guests….sorry buddy….

We're the same way in the hill country, between the 4 in my immediate family, we killed 2 doe last year. We just don't eat deer like we used to. It's like i ate so much growing up because times were harder, that i'm pretty well burned out on it.

I grind my venison straight deer nothing else. Then I package in 1 lb bags and when I cook I mix it with 1 lb beef fattest cheapest stuff on the shelf.

It was processed exactly like we process them all, for some reason only Whitetail bucks have a super gamey taste to them.
We quartered it and took it to the same meat market as always. He don’t mess up, ever.
I’m gonna call him Monday and see if we can turn all this ground whitetail into snack sticks.
Cause Right now it makes me want to 🤮
