    Marijuana reclassification

Well, as much as I would hesitate to give the Biden administration credit for doing anything, anything at all, that actually needed to be done....

This will probably be a bigger boost as far as buying votes is concerned than student loan giveaways.

A move in the direction of freedom and liberty, so we can regulate and tax???? It feels kind of like a double negative in grammar.
Playing victim is the most powerful position on the board. You get to define the villain and the hero, and nothing is your fault. Plus if you don’t like the way it’s going you can redefine the hero as a villain.

Well, I considered doing the link from Newsmax or something, but I figured Rubberback would lose the rest of the day as soon as he read it, collapsing in the corner fanning himself, with a bad case of the vapors.

The most non conservative viewpoint on the entire internet.

Legalize it because personal freedom. Legalize it because liberty. Legalize it because it's not our business. Legalize it because it's the right thing to do. Heck, legalize it to avoid hypocrisy or lack of parity with alcohol

but legalize to impose a tax??? And a FEDERAL tax at that, on an ag product.

The fact that people who identify themselves conservatives have come to this makes me a little ill.

Screw that. Once you start the taxation, it never will go away. Just legalize it. Period.

          Just another scam for votes.

Not enough time for it to work it’s way to reality.

How many people are really in prison over a few joints? Who are the thousands the article mentions?

Yes. It's a scam for votes.

Does it mean that it's not the right thing for freedom?

I don't care about the motivation. I care the action.

And I'm on the record somewhere slamming Trump for not doing it before the last Trump / Biden head to head. It was an obvious move that could have swung some votes in a tight election and he was stupid for not doing it.

Biden has never out politicked Trump. UNTIL NOW.

Exactly!!! It’s all about the votes it will bring.

Same as the Student Loan scam he put out there in the last election. Vote for me and I will make it happen!! Then the SC bitch slapped his scheme. He knew it wouldn’t happen…but he got the votes from those gullible fools anyway.

Smokin Joe could have done this a LONG time ago. Why is he waiting till now? Even Ray Charles can see what he’s doing!!

No one is currently in federal prison solely for “simple possession" of weed, but there are thousands of people who have prior Federal convictions for marijuana possession. The pardon could help some overcome the obstacle of renting a home or finding a job from said convictions.

Some of you are funny with your comments...acting as though this is a bad thing. Maybe if Trump did this "LONG time ago" there would be more hip-hip-hooray! We want our Presidents to do good and pass laws that are good for this country. Who cares when! This is long overdue.

Bout time. Should be completely declassified.

                Generally agree with Grumpy.

Texas should decriminalize weed and all forms of gambling.

If you tax the legal sales of *checks notes*......... a weed.

It is just going to push the sales to the black market, which kind if defeats the purpose of taxing it in the first place.

I was in Nashville last weekend. You can walk into smoke shops and buy it by the joint rolled or 1/8th oz. There were no issues caused by it that I could tell. The place was packed like Vegas or New Orleans with zero issues.

                    legalize it already.

Many states looked at weed as the goose that lays golden eggs. Between the package pricing and the taxes most folks I know are still buying on the black market. Illinois and Michigan are priced over $500.00 an ounce. The second coming of Christ will occur before Texas ever legalizes it

Many states already have the golden egg. Judges, lawyers, fines, etc. Lots of money and jobs made criminalizing weed.

I guess if you're in a "legal" stae, once you have it bought off black market you're "golden"!!
