I think either it's just "immigrants" now. Biden did a directive to their agencies in 2021 telling them to use " undocumented noncitizen", but the AP stylebook nixed "illegal immigrant" in 2023, after sanctioning that specificially in 2013 once it became unfashionable to use "alien". Now they just want to use "immigrant", and even "undocumented" is pretty iffy.

Alien - Alien is a legal term that refers to any person who is not a citizen or a national of the United States.

Note that no country is specified where they may be from, or any specific race.
