Malrin (fly bait) mixed with a cheap soda water (fake sprite) in a chicken water feeder....it'll kill em. Our feed bill cut 1/2 after we started doing it.
Coon Control

Told my buddy about this and he put a huge dent in the coon population. Had buzzards in every tree for several days. Neighbors asked if a cow had died. He said something must died but it was already gone. -
I read somewhere that Malrin has changed and is not toxic enough to do coons in
Any truth to this? -
He did this just before this past deer season. When he googled where to get it they even advertised it for coon control.

I don't want to wipe out the entire population
Just want to keep them at a reasonable number
The H-A- heart trap was set off last night, none in the trap
Dirt on the top shows the easy set was tripped by a climber
Two downand a few more to go.
One thing I learned is a dead coon near by has no effect on the others

Duke’s traps are the way to go, they are very effective, use them as needed to keep the population down. You would be surprised
at the number of coons you really have. When they start tearing up my feeding tubes, I set the trap, last time I caught 7 when I thought I had a couple.Comment

Number 3 this morning, dispatched
Was unexpected since I only sprinkled corn around the HAH trap
Need to wash it, getting kind of bloody

Back in the late 70’s through about 1985 my uncle, cousin and me did our fare share of coon pop. Control.
Uncle worked on a local 2700 acre ranch. We all pitched in with hay fields and working cows.
We would hunt 3-5 nights a week in the cooler months. A couple times we got 30 coons and 35 one night.
Only land we didn’t spot light was probably 100-150 acres around headquarters.
When ranch manager was gone headquarters was game also.
All coons were skinned by local bar owner for the meat.
FYI bar name was Sisco Inn on Allenhurst road. It’s been long gone for years.
Fur buyer came to town 1-2 times a month.
Some of the hides went for $30-$35 at times. But mama said.Comment

They will take over if let alone. I got 8 in a row one time that lived under my neighbors house...whole family"You'll Never Catch'em Like That"Comment

I became a double ACE this morning
I held off the trapping for a while to see how many would show on the cams
Started back two days with one trapped each night
Like a fighter pilot with Jap flags for downed Zeros I'm gonna get something like this to stick on my ATV to keep track

I let all my feeders run dry and the coons have moved on temporarily. I need to start feeding again so I need to clean up about a 1/2 dozen traps to get ready for the freeloaders. I practice my long distance shooting with my .17 when I catch them. Have to make some sort of sport out of it or it gets tiresome.Making Texas Hog Free One Hog At A TimeComment
